Project Scope
Our task was to reconfigure the existing building located at Broadway + Cambie into a residential building with a focus on 'deep green' design.
This project included the configuration of the building's common spaces, planning of suites, as well as a sales center with an adjoining presentation suite.
Driver
Our driver for this project focused on deep green technology.
Technology
Innovative equipment or machinery that advances sustainable practice. This includes system's that are high-tech and digital, and more natural systems that focus on natural resources.
Design Challenge
The City Hall District is an evolving neighbourhood that lacks community focused sustainable housing.
How might we create a housing environment that facilitates connection through people to people, people to nature, and people to technology?
Concept
The Collective Core is focused on advocating intentional, sustainable living within a dense urban environment.
The space will connect users through a human-to-human connection with the use of a large gathering space.
There will also be a strong connection formed by human to nature elements seen through biophilic relief.
The final connection will be seen through human to technology, achieved through easily understandable and technological systems.
