Site
The site for this project is located at 303 W Pender St, in the Gastown area of Vancouver. The building it is located in was previously designed collaboratively with other students, having the main circulation along the windows to increase privacy for offices from the adjacent street.

Design Concept
Create a sacred healing experience that reinforces recognition and belonging amongst patients.
The warm and welcoming space honors and preserves Indigenous traditions with the inclusion of ceremonial spaces for families, and the application of natural materials and textures.
We are creating a sense of safety and trust for guests with open waiting areas, while separation and closure of healing spaces foster the need for privacy.
A respectful representation of culture and wellness traditions create a comfortable space for families to receive qual healthcare.

Plan
The space plan features two healing rooms for family gatherings and two treatment rooms for private care.
Each of the four rooms are themed after one of the four elements - a nod to the sacred recognition of the number four for the Indigenous peoples.
